Milan Fashion Week: Loro Piana Unveils New Luxury Fabrics in the Name of Royalty
Milan Fashion Week is one of the most important events in the global luxury industry. Italian luxury brand Loro Piana, known as the “King of Cashmere,” unveiled its 2025-2026 Fall/Winter collection during the 2025 Milan Fashion Week. Titled The Way We Were, the collection explores the intersection of top-tier fabrics and refined lifestyle aesthetics through two exhibition spaces.
Two Exhibition Spaces: A Grand Journey of Italian Style Across the World
Walnut wood, sisal carpets, brushed brass accents, travertine, and gray glass—these understated yet sophisticated design elements intertwine to create two distinct exhibition spaces. The first, the main exhibition hall, presents Loro Piana’s 2025-2026 Fall/Winter collection, including apparel and accessories. The second space highlights the brand’s latest premium fabric, Royal Lightness.
The main exhibition hall takes visitors on a style “journey,” beginning in Argentina, traveling through the Scottish Highlands, and finally landing in New Zealand and Australia. The space is designed like an artist’s studio—organized chaos infused with creative energy. Mannequins and easels display clothing alongside landscape paintings of Argentina, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand, drawing visitors into the world of Loro Piana. Notably, these landscapes have been transformed into the Acquerelli di Natura prints, seamlessly blending nature, art, inspiration, and the luxurious softness of fine fabrics.
The New Royal Lightness Fabric: A Fusion of Lightness, Craftsmanship, and Functionality
The second exhibition space is dedicated to Royal Lightness, a name that cleverly plays on the phrase “Royal Highness.” Traditionally used as a formal address for members of monarchies in the UK, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, “Royal Highness” symbolizes prestige and nobility. Loro Piana’s Royal Lightness fabric lives up to this grandeur. Made from silk and Merino wool yarns, it also incorporates cashmere and pure silk, making it exceptionally challenging to produce. This blend not only enhances the fabric’s softness but also gives it a unique ability to reflect light, which inspired its name.
Additionally, this exhibition space showcases Loro Piana’s renowned Baby Cashmere®, The Gifts of Kings® wool, and Vicuna wool, reaffirming the brand’s status as a leader in the world of fine fabrics.
A Nostalgic Tribute: Loro Piana Transforms a Milanese Newsstand
During Milan Fashion Week, Loro Piana transformed the newsstand on Via dei Giardini into a nostalgic tribute to its heritage. The space was adorned with classic advertisements from 1992 to 2000, evoking the brand’s timeless elegance. Visitors who stopped by during the event received black-and-white postcards featuring vintage Loro Piana ads, along with special edition Loro Piana stamps—allowing memories of the brand’s century-long legacy to continue their journey around the world, leaving behind moments of warmth and refined beauty.
