The second Sunday in May is just a few weeks away, and GUCCI has unveiled its 2025 Mother’s Day visual campaign. The brand invited photographer Tina Barney to capture the essence of the relationship between mothers and their children, featuring three real-life mother-daughter and mother-son pairs. Through the lens, the campaign beautifully portrays the subtle and authentic emotional connections between two generations, while also showcasing GUCCI’s Italian lifestyle and recommended Mother’s Day gifts.
The relationship between a mother and her daughter (or son) isn’t only defined by tender affection. Under the lens of Tina Barney, Yara Shahidi and her mother Keri Salter-Shahidi, Camille Bidault-Waddington and her son Albert, and Kim Gordon and her daughter Coco, shared personal stories in front of the camera. Their moments, captured with precision, reveal a mix of pride, composure, and subtle awkwardness. These delicate emotions feel as genuine as Italy itself, a country renowned for its deep family values, making the campaign resonate universally with every viewer.
In scenes set by rolled-up curtains, lavish palace-style beddings, and vibrant green mosaic walls, the campaign captures not only heartfelt mother-child moments but also highlights GUCCI’s curated seasonal gifts. Featured items include the playful GUCCI Horsebit ballet flats, paired with luxurious GUCCI Interlocking jewelry and silk scarves. Specially recommended bags include the new GUCCI Softbit and the upgraded GG Marmont from this season. The former is crafted from Spanish calfskin and incorporates the iconic horsebit element, while the latter uses top-tier lambskin for an incredibly soft feel. Both bags are offered in soft pastel hues and come with a practical semi-hidden back pocket. Ultimately, these exquisite designs echo a heartfelt sentiment: a tribute to the women loved by all sons and daughters.
